The Outdoors

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy Springfield.  Experience a part of the Lewis and Clark Trail which still looks very much like it did when Lewis and Clark explored the area.  Bass fishing and duck hunting are two very popular activities.  You'll also find campers and golfers along the bluffs of the Missouri River at Springfield.

The waters around Springfield produce a bass haven.  You'll also find walleye, sauger, northern, crappie, bluegills, and catfish.   Hunters will find an abundance of deer, ducks, geese, and turkey.  You might even spot a bald eagle while you are fishing near the bottom road.

Visitors enjoy camping, boating, picnicking and fishing at this 45-acre state maintained recreation area where unique river scenery awaits.  Facilities include 22 campsites most with electricity, showers, dump station, 2 camping cabins, playground, picnic shelter, fishing dock, and fish cleaning station. Privately owned cabins and RV parking also available nearby.
